U have got to get your self a bicycle… There are 3 bike places we recommend & each for different reasons… They all do have 1 thing in common though & that is, the bikes are non advertising & therefore u don't look like a just landed dork on 2 wheels !! …. The Bikes- Star bikes company offers decent rates & tidy …. www.black-bikes.com, you will blend right in & even look respectable De Ruyterkade 127, in Black .. www.starbikesrental.com .. you will blend right in & even look respectable, the store is also a 'river side' cafe & u can even get your bike with a full picnic hamper.. wine, delicious tapas, a choice of home made rolls, drinks.. events even. . Just behind them on Spuistraat 84 (G2) the Recycled rentals www.recycledrentals.com they are blue ..a bit cheaper but have only a few bikes so u have to get there very early….. Bike Tours & rentals from Mikes Bikes www.mikesbiketoursamsterdam.com in green & on Kerkstraat 134 (E4) Daily Countryside windmills cheese farm/clog factorys… flowers.. & or City Bike Tours draw bridges, houseboats, streets, canals, also a guided walking tour in & around the Red Light areas!! present this map for a one euro discount on daily bike rentals, daily until 6:00pm.. I believe u will be satisfied with these offers!

You could also; as the locals do & just hop on the first lacksadaisically locked bike you see & off you go…… Think once, think twice, think bike!! .........................

With public transport you get there by bus 82 from Amsterdam and then ask the bus driver to warn you for the stop at Ruigoord village. much squatted in the late 70's Many of the big houses & sometimes even whole streets were taken by the people.. & there were even a few street wars with the pigs until by now there are only a few places left which are not yet in the hands of the capitalist pigs.. www.Ruigoord.nl was a whole squat village (on a par with www.christiania.org in Copenhagen) they still have parties & is good to take a look. In that area now the pigs are building the new Amsterdam seadock.. which is also worth the trip... especially if u are on a trip..
